The Problem
One of our clients is an author who has written a financial literacy novel. The novel has received positive feedback from readers and critics, and the author believed it had the potential to reach a larger audience. However, the author had no online presence and is solely relying on Amazon.com to sell their book. This limited distribution channel is limiting the potential success of the novel, as was is not reaching a wider audience. The author has approached our website design agency to help them establish an online presence and expand their distribution channels. The challenge for our agency was to create a website that showcased the author's book, provides a platform for the author to connect with readers and schools and community leaders, and integrates multiple sales channels to increase the book's reach and sales.
Our Solution
To solve the problem of limited sales channels for the her novel, we created a comprehensive solution that involved creating a strong brand identity for the author. The first step was creating a logo for the author's organization, which would serve as the foundation for all branding efforts. The branding packet included guidelines on font usage, color schemes, and other design elements to ensure an aligned and consistent brand image across all platforms.
To expand the author's reach, we created a merch store on the website featuring custom book mockups and clothing mockups, including t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. These items were designed to attract potential customers and increase brand awareness. Additionally, the author was able to explore her own creativity by expanding her products to include journals and pop-up workshops, allowing her to connect with readers and prospects in a more personal and meaningful way.
